resilience

As a person and as an artist, I consider myself an anomaly.

Before my birth, one parent wanted to have me aborted. Within days of being born, the other parent surrendered to the advice of a Catholic nun and turned me over to the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto.

Foster care is intended to be temporary, lasting either weeks, months, or a year or two.

I spent my entire childhood and teenage years in foster care until I aged out at 18.

Those years in foster care shaped my perception of reality, gave me an altered view of normalcy and led me to where I am today.
